IS003 - Numerical and Analytical Approximation of Data and Functions with Applications (ANA&A)

Organized by: C. Cesarano (University Uninettuno, Italy), D. Conte (University of Salerno, Italy), A. De Rossi (University of Torino, Italy) and D. Occorsio (University of Basilicata, Italy)
Keywords: approximation theory, numerical solution of functional equations, orthogonal polynomials, special functions
The mini-symposium aims to bring together researchers working on numerical problems, involving in particular the tools of Approximation Theory and the use of special Functions and orthogonal polynomials. Among these, we intend to promote discussions on new mathematical methods and algorithms for the reconstruction of functions and on the solution of functional equations of different types, both in univariate and multidimensional cases. Function reconstruction and functional equations, and in particular integral equations, are of interest since involved in many different applications, as well as diffusion problems, elasticity, semi-conductors, scattering theory, seismology, heat conduction, metallurgy, fluid flow, chemical reactions, population dynamics, information diffusion, models describing the evolution of tumor metastases, battery modeling, vegetation problems, sustainability etc. Theoretical and practical contributions, as well as software for approximation presentations, are welcome.
